Do you work as a freelancer in the cultural sector? Then I can help you with your bookkeeping and to navigate the world of the Dutch taxes. I'm specialized in the yearly income tax declaration for creative entrepreneurs. Most freelancers do the VAT declaration by themselves, but if you don't feel like doing it, I can also do it for you. I'm available as well to answer questions and to give you advice and orientation.
I'm a freelancer in the cultural sector myself. Audiovisual design is my background. Since 2012 I'm based in Amsterdam, where I work making sound recordings on location and also as a captain/tour guide. Four years ago, I was looking for an extra source of income that was not so location dependent. I was at the time doing the administration of my living group, and I realized that I quite enjoyed that type of work. So I thought: “I could work as an accountant”. Miraculously, my own accountant was willing to teach me the trade. Koosje Wolf has been working as a tax advisor for creative entrepreneurs with her company Adminplus for more than 25 years, and now we work together.
I enjoy this job, partly because of the scale. I wouldn't like to work in a big company doing a part of the administration. I prefer to work with freelancers, where I get an overview of the whole small business, and where I keep personal contact. That I find important and much more interesting.
Great, and how much does it cost? I have two different agreements: 1 - I do the income tax declaration once a year based on an excel sheet that you do. In this case, you do the btw-aangiftes, usually every three months. 2 - I take care of everything, meaning that once every three months you send me an email with two folders: In & Out. In the folders you throw all your outgoing invoices (In) and pictures of all the tickets/bonnetjes of all you costs (Out). I make the excel sheet and take care of the btw aangiftes and the income tax report as well.
The first one costs € 345, the second one € 700, ex. BTW.
For other work I charge € 60/hour.
